We have 67 artworks by Rudolf Koller online. We have 1824 paintings online.
Robert Zünd painted an evening landscape of such similar composition that the two pictures were probably created simultaneously as composition exercises on a given theme. This procedure was common among students and is attested for the 'small society of artists' in Zurich in these years. It is also possible that the two friends also only met among themselves. The starting point may have been compositions by Claude Lorrain around 1640 ('Blick auf Luzern von Wartenfluh', see Robert Zünd, Ausst.-Kat. Lucerne 2004, p. 103).

Provenance
The digitisation of the inventory of the Kunsthaus is an ongoing work in progress. Due to the time-consuming nature of comprehensive scientific research on each individual artwork, we have decided to disclose some works also without provenance information to the public. The progression of provenance research will be continuously updated online. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at provenanceresearch(at)kunsthaus.ch.
