The body of Christ is lost. The version seen today dates from the 19th century. -The Madonna is closely related in structure and motifs to Madonnas from the Auvergne of the second half of the 12th century, particularly to the group around Notre Dame de Saugues. According to Forsyth, the limited plastic development and extreme stylization suggest a provincial origin outside of France after 1200.
