When the Jews wanted to hand Samson over to the Philistines, he broke the ropes and slew a thousand Philistines with a donkey's jawbone (Judges, XV, 15). Here his future wife Delilah approaches the warrior.
Previously described as German around 1800; the attribution to Friedrich Rehberg is due to Hermann Mildenberger.
