not on displayWilly Staehelin (1917-1996) was a partner in a large law firm in Zurich. From 1963 to 1971 he was president of the Vereinigung Zürcher Kunstfreunde. In 1963 he contacted Varlin, who portrayed him and his family in the following. The art collector lived in a villa that Marcel Breuer had built for him above Feldmeilen. The picture shows the father in a characteristic pose, his wife Marina Staehelin-Peyer and son and daughter together with the family dog in front of the swimming pool in the garden.
