The entire width of the wooden panel is torn in the middle. Contrary to Brandenberger's assertion that the picture shows the 'view from the north across the lake into the Valtellina', there are from Miralago, the former Meschino, it shows the view from the south towards Poschiavo; the mountains belonging to the Bernina massif in the background are dominated by Piz Varuna, followed on the right by Cornicello and Sassal Masone. The church tower of Le Prese is visible on the northern shore of the lake. The picture is considered an incunabulum of Alpine painting in Graubünden.
