Like its counterpart, inv. 433 probably a 'Sechseläuten piece'. 'Sechseläuten' is the name of the famous Zurich spring festival. Watercolour outline etchings by Freudweiler are known after both paintings (Grafische Sammlung, Kunsthaus Zürich and Graphische Sammlung of ETH Zürich). In this drinking game, which tests skilfulness, a visiting guild member sits on a chair placed on a table made especially for this purpose. A white turnip hangs from the ceiling and is made to circle around the player; he should have drunk three glasses of wine before the 'Räbe' touches the wide rim of the hat placed on his head. The game continues until the set task is completed or the drinking capacity is exhausted, as demonstrated by the two drunks on the right.
