The mythologically indeterminable figure varies the reclining figure in Titian's bacchanal 'The Andrier' (Madrid, Prado), which in turn reproduces the ancient motif of the sleeping Ariadne. A more reliable dating will have to be made within the framework of a scholarly treatment of Pellegrini's work.
