We have 1 artwork by Gottfried Pulian online. We have 1824 paintings online.
The late Romanesque St Peter's Church and the ruins of the Gothic Werner Chapel and Stahleck Castle in the background give the town of Bacharach on the Middle Rhine its special character. A group of jugglers playing music with a dromedary, bears and monkeys adds entertainment to the picturesque everyday life depicted.
A somewhat smaller version (58 x 85 cm) of this composition attributed to Pulian (with a slightly altered viewpoint and different staffage) was found in the Cologne art trade in 1993.
