According to an old legend, a stag with a lamp on his antlers led Hildegard and Berta, daughters of Louis the German, to their foundation, the Fraumünster in Zurich, before daybreak for the early mass. In the background is their castle Baldern on the Albis above the Sihl valley, on the left the lake of Zurich with Tödi and Clariden. - As early as 1898 Welti considered the idea for a niche at Fraumünster with a faded Gothic fresco. - In the frame designed by Welti.
