It depicts the miraculous transfer of the lifeless body of the martyr Restituta from Africa to the island of Ischia. In heaven, Mary is asked by St. Gennaro to grant the wish of Parthenope (the personification of Naples), depicted in the form of a siren, to keep such a great treasure in her city.
