We have 7 artworks by Robert Zünd online. We have 1824 paintings online.
On the right bank of Lake Sempach with a view towards the south: on the left is the church tower of Sempach, in the distance Titlis (?) and Pilatus can be seen, partly in clouds. For the foreground on the left, the same terrain study as for inv. 315 was used in reverse.
Zünd's difficult dating results from the painterly sovereignty and freshness and from the further development of the motif into the composition of the 'Good Shepherd' (sale Fischer, Lucerne 20.XI.2003, lot 1260; for preliminary stages see Robert Zünd in seiner Zeit, exh. cat. Lucerne 1978, no. 126 and Robert Zünd, exh. cat. Lucerne 2004, p. 74).

Provenance
The digitisation of the inventory of the Kunsthaus is an ongoing work in progress. Due to the time-consuming nature of comprehensive scientific research on each individual artwork, we have decided to disclose some works also without provenance information to the public. The progression of provenance research will be continuously updated online. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at provenanceresearch(at)kunsthaus.ch.
