Cuno Amiet1868 Solothurn – 1961 Oschwand

The cottage garden was already one of Amiet's favorite subjects in the Art Nouveau phase (see inv. 2358). He depicted the same garden on the Oschwand in a large painting in 1904 (Kunstmusem Basel, first version in the Kunstmuseum Solothurn) and in 1906 in 'Der Garten am Waldrand' (George Mauner: Cuno Amiet (Zurich 1984), colour ills. 29).In: Kunsthaus Zürich.
