The sculpture transposes the theme of the Cubist 'Composition (Couple couché)' into the formal type of the spatial drawing that Giacometti developed out of the disc sculptures: rather than impressing the symbols into a surface, he allows them to hover freely in the transparent space.Christian Klemm, 2007
