We have 3 artworks by David Hockney online. We have 1824 paintings online.
The work is connected with Hockney's series of prints 'The Rake's Progress', which was essentially created after his visit to New York in the summer of 1961 and completed in 1963; the pictorial idea is closely related to the print 'Viewing a Prison Scene' (cf. David Hockney. Paintings, Prints and Drawings 1960-1970 (exh. cat. London, Whitechapel Gallery, 1970), no. P.15, p. 80 f.).
