Cuno Amiet1868 Solothurn – 1961 Oschwand

One of the few surviving works by Amiet from his decisive work phase in Pont-Aven with clear colour modulation and bold planar composition. Most of them were lost in the fire of the Glaspalast in Munich in 1931, among them the 'Bretonische Wäscherinnen' (1893, 184 x 115 cm; former Kunsthaus Zürich, inv. 1120).In: Kunsthaus Zürich.
