Giovanni Segantini1858 Arco – 1899 Schafberg (Pontresina)
Giovanni Segantini has 9 works online.
There are 1395 paintings online.
Painted in the summer of 1893 in Tusagn above Savognin with the cook's son as a model (see 'Meine Modelle', inv. 1975/16), completed after the artist moved to Maloja and exhibited in the Permanente in Milan as early as 1894. The dating 1895 possibly refers to partial retouching. Considered by Segantini and contemporary critics as a 'symbolist' or 'idealist' work.
