Although Roederstein painted many commissioned portraits, this is most likely a painting after a freely chosen model from the famous military school, as is evident from the provenance and also suggested by the almost ironic difference between the representative male pose and the youthfully harmless face marred by the feather bush.In: Kunsthaus Zürich.
