Otto Meyer-Amden1885 Bern – 1933 Zürich

The Zurich merchant Hermann Reiff supported Otto Meyer-Amden during his training with Hölzel in Stuttgart, where this painting was one of the first important works. The main figure is developed from studies after the Swiss Gärtner Elsässer, who was one of Meyer-Amden's friends in Stuttgart (see Otto Meyer-Amden (exhibition cat.
