Portrait de Charles Ferdinand Ramuz

The writer Charles Ferdinand Ramuz (1878-1947) is depicted. Auberjonois had met him in Paris in 1905, and from 1910 he produced several drawings. This is the first painted portrait that shows the poet in front of the restaurant La Crochettaz near Epesses. In 1923 he produced two paintings with a narrower detail (Lausanne, Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts) and finally three reverse glass paintings (see Hugo Wagner, René Auberjonois.
